Two new units, the children’s hospital and outpatient surgery, are accommodated in the extension of this clinic. The various buildings designed and built in their time, showcase a variety of architectural styles and materials. This project is a continuation of the previous attempt to combine existing architectural elements and create a harmonious whole. The extension is designed with a lofty, triple-volume atrium between the two so-called “towers”. One of the main concepts was to create a long gallery to the rear of the building to ease the logistics of the entire hospital complex. The linear accelerators for the radiotherapy department are situated beneath the atrium on the basement floor. All personnel circulation, as well as material flow for the hospital has been placed in a new “internal street” between two, eight-storey wings.LocationTartu, EstoniaArchitectAW2 Architects, Helsinki, FinlandBuilderTartu University Hospital, Tartu, EstoniaPartnerASTLANDA EHITUS, Tallinn, EstoniaYear2016PhotographerMeraner & Hauser OHG/SNC, Bozen, Italy Downloads Project Sheet Tartu University Hospital Extension pdf 4,1 MB Back to the overview Select several references and design your individual lookbook for downloadingYour individual lookbook for download (0)Your individual lookbook+ show entire selection- reduce displayed selectionCreate PDFAdd to lookbookIn lookbook
