Just outside of Svendborg, the municipality has developed a residential area called “Tankefuld” (Meaningful), where green and innovative solutions play a central role. The area consists of 44 homes, divided into several cluster houses that together form cozy courtyards, gardens, and small paths for recreational use. The architect laid out the vision for this project, which was developed with a strong focus on social and economic sustainability. The ambition was to create a modern Cittaslow in the middle of nature – a residential area with a focus on quality, sustainability, and local products. Sustainable solutions have been implemented throughout, from the internal construction to the exterior of the project, which has been awarded a DGNB Gold certification. It was important that the appearance of the homes matched the surrounding open landscape. That’s why the authentic Patina Original in a light, muted brown was chosen, perfectly harmonizing with the wild grasslands nearby. In addition, it was a requirement to use materials with documented environmental properties.
