Inspired by nature.
A facade is more than just a part of the building envelope - it is an expression of character and vision. Patina NXT gives this expression a new dimension.
Swisspearl is one of the leading manufacturers of fibre cement building products in Europe. The first and oldest production site where the industrial processing of this versatile and weather-resistant material began is one of Swisspearl's eight plants. The inventor and entrepreneur Ludwig Hatschek, who registered his patent for the production of fibre cement roof panels in Austria in 1899, founded this plant in Vöcklabruck, Austria. In 2014, Swisspearl initially launched its self-developed solar systems on the Swiss market, which form an aesthetic symbiosis with its own cladding materials on roofs and façades. They are also developed from patented components in accordance with Swiss quality standards and manufactured in Europe. At BAU 2025, interested visitors will find Swisspearl in Hall A3 Stand 126, where there will be space for dialogue on the innovative design of the future and Swisspearl's contributions to the transformation of the construction industry. The exhibition stand itself consists of almost 100% components that will be recycled after BAU.
Roofs, façades, interior walls and structural building elements benefit from the material and product properties of fibre cement. Whether renovation or new construction - Swisspearl products are available for all applications and contribute to the sustainable orientation of architecture and the construction industry. The company employs around 2,400 people. The headquarters of the family-owned AG is located in Niederurnen (Switzerland).
The façade and roof panels from Swisspearl are usually available in two material thicknesses of 8 and 12 mm and are also suitable for lightweight constructions. Architects value them as a resource-saving and thin, yet durable alternative to concrete. Using as much material as necessary, but as little as possible, reduces the ecological footprint of buildings.
The manufacturer's façade and roof panels are non-combustible in accordance with building material class A2 - s1, d0, as well as being weather-resistant and maintenance-free. The high pH value of the fibre cement makes them particularly resistant to algae, mould and fungi. Thanks to their special properties, Swisspearl products are permanently resistant to moisture, rotting, cracking and deformation both during and after installation. UV protection prevents the colours with which the façade and roof panels are dyed and partially coated from fading.
Fabricators value Swisspearl fibre cement products for their ease of installation and dismantling. All Swisspearl systems can be separated by type during dismantling and thus returned to the building materials recycling cycle. Swisspearl supports the various building trades as well as planners and investors in the project-related technical planning of façades, roof cladding, integrated solar systems and fastening solutions.
Swisspearl offers one of the world's most comprehensive ranges of fibre cement products for façades, roofs and interiors. It is made even more attractive by numerous services and customised solutions. For example, the manufacturer offers the option of having fibre cement panels individually shaped and designed.
Whether special cuts, engravings, perforations or rounded panels - in the Group's factories and at qualified fabricators, specialists work to ensure that even bold designs by architects and designers become reality with fibre cement. Both the interior and exterior of the building envelope benefit from the robust and aesthetic quality of Swisspearl products.
As a Swiss family business, the Swisspearl Group operates under the leadership of its Management Board with a perspective that spans generations. For decades, the company's employees have been committed with curiosity, passion and dedication to creating innovative and sustainable products from natural raw materials. Together, they have achieved a leading position in the innovation and technology of fibre cement. Swisspearl stands for Swiss quality - worldwide. Marco Wenger has been CEO of Swisspearl Group AG since 2023.
It is the declared aim of the Swisspearl Group to be Europe's number one in the field of high-quality fibre cement and a leader in the quality of its processing. With standards that are always a little higher, thinking that is always a step ahead and performance that always goes a little further. Our daily work is based on environmentally conscious thinking and actions and on a corporate culture that is based on mutual respect and appreciation towards partners and employees. With subsidiaries and distributors in more than 60 countries, Swisspearl has a dense service network and is very close to its customers.
In 2022, Swisspearl Group AG took over the Danish fibre cement manufacturer Cembrit with all its plants. The result was a company with a uniquely extensive product programme, global sales and a large number of experienced specialists in production and technology under the Swisspearl umbrella brand.
Swisspearl products and systems are designed to reduce the environmental impact of construction activities while improving the aesthetics and functionality of buildings. For the first time at BAU 2025 and at all subsequent trade fairs, the company will be presenting a modular exhibition concept whose components will be reused in various applications. The aim is to generate no waste by participating in a trade fair.
As one of the leading companies in the construction industry, Swisspearl takes responsibility for ensuring that the transition to responsible, holistic construction succeeds as quickly and effectively as possible. The needs of today's generations should be met without having a negative impact on future generations. The company has set itself ambitious goals to achieve this.
Swisspearl Group AG aims to achieve CO2 neutrality for all plants by 2040. The proportion of renewable energies will be steadily increased. From 2030, no more waste from production will be sent to landfill. The consumption of drinking water in production processes is to be reduced to zero by 2030. One plant has already succeeded in establishing a production process that only discharges waste water from toilets and the canteen. The cellulose fibres in Swisspearl's fibre cement come from responsibly managed forests.
Building materials and components from Swisspearl support the construction of buildings that fulfil the requirements of DGNB, BREEAM, LEED, Nordic Swan Ecolabel and Sunda Hus. They have already been tested and included in databases for sustainable building materials in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands. Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for Swisspearl products are verified by independent testing institutes.
Processes and structures are also continuously scrutinised with regard to the design of the working environment at Swisspearl. Swisspearl assumes full social responsibility towards its employees in terms of leadership, behaviour and treatment.

Swisspearl's "Authentic" Colour Line façade panels are deliberately manufactured without an opaque coating. This allows the fibres contained in the panels to subtly change their colour nuance over the years under the influence of the weather, depending on the location. The natural maturing process gradually gives a façade a finely nuanced patina.
The solid-coloured fibre cement panels in the "Carat" colour line are ideal for a monolithic façade design. The invisible fastening on an agraffe construction can be realised with 12 mm thick panels and now also with 8 mm thick panels from the "Carat" colour line. This is made possible by a patented fastening system from Swisspearl.
Swisspearl supports designers in the realisation of individual designs by cutting façade panels to special sizes and by bending, sandblasting, milling or punching holes. The picture shows a building designed by DGA design graphic architecture s.r.o., Košice, Slovakia.
"Structa" roof tiles from Swisspearl add an elegant structure to any roof. Thanks to their medium-sized format of 1165 x 625 mm, "Structa" roofing sheets quickly form an attractive and cost-effective covering. The range of roofing sheets and installation systems from Swisspearl opens up design freedom that architects know how to utilise.
On this roof, the solar modules of the "Swisspearl Sunskin Roof Lap" system were combined with the "Eternit" roof slate. The integrated snow brakes prevent dangerously large slabs of snow from falling. All components for this utility roof were developed by Swisspearl.
With the two variants of the "Swisspearl Sunskin Roof" system, roofs with a pitch of 15° to 60° can be customised as solar roofs. The PV modules for the system are available in three sizes and can be combined with Swisspearl roof panels. The manufacturer provides a 10-year product guarantee and a 25-year performance guarantee for all solar modules. This emphasises the high value stability of the system.
